Is there an upper limit on records to add (not storage)

I see that 300mb is the upper bound for storage before one needs to buy storage (seems reasonable. How many pdfs is 300 mbs? Must be a lot).

I had used refworks for a long time and have like maybe 2,000 records (most DON'T have attachments). If I expert the whole library and import into Zotero, will it slow down the stand-alone version? Even if one is below the 300 mb for storage, are there any issues with simply managing very large libraries?
  • A 2000 record library is not a problem for me. I have significantly more than that, many with attachments. I have purchased extra storage.
  • Very large libraries can cause problems — and we're working to address those in part with a new sync architecture in Zotero 5.0 — but "very large" in this case means tens of thousands of items. 2,000 items should be no problem at all.
