Hello,

Can somebody help me get started with this...? I am new to writing code involving anything with firefox.

I was interested in creating a command-line tool that would take a file-path and then run zotero's bibtex output option, saving the file to that path. I figured that if I did this, then I could put a simple macro in a program like winedt that would update my bibtex file.

Sorry for the vague question here... but yeah... does anybody know if that's possible, or where I'd start. I know I can access the sqlite file, but I was hoping to be able to run zotero's existing bibtex output process... just from outside of firefox.

  • MozLab is probably where you want to start. It allows telnet-based access to the internal Mozilla environment, including Zotero. (We use it on the styles page for generating CSL previews, which currently come from an instance of Firefox/Zotero actually running in the background on one of our servers.)

zotero-dev would be a better place for further discussion, though.
