Translator for existing bibliography in a Word/PDF Document

Is it possible to add reference information to Zotero from bibliographies that exist in Word or PDF files?

It would be useful to be able to add references that other authors have used in their work.

Is this possible?

You can also find descriptions of the difficulty of the problem in several other threads on this forum (the search function in the upper left is quite decent), as well as some success stories with cb2Bib.
