plug in issue?

Things in firefox were dragging generally and I kept getting a shockwave crash. I reset firefox, and though I still see my zotero library (whew!) when I try to make new citations, I get this message: "Zotero could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate extension is installed and try again" I don't know what to do.
