importing the citations or bibliographies from MS word 13 to Zotero

I have been writing my Ph.D thesis for quite sometime. I didn't know of Zotero till very recently, and hence had been using the inbuild option in MS word 13 to create citations and bibliographies in the references tab. Is it possible to import those bibliographic entries and citations to Zotero? Or any other option that you could kindly suggest so as to use zotero here after in stead of MS word 13 reference option. But the entries are too large in number to be organized manuallly again in Zotero, hence it'll be better if they can be imported.

Follow these instructions (steps 1-4) to export from Word to BibTeX format:

Then import into Zotero using Import from Clipboard (under the gears menu).

You'll have to insert the citations into the Word document again, but the data can be imported en masse into Zotero.
