Zotero can't download PDF: Invalid certificate

Hi

I'm having issues when saving to my Zotero library one of the results of a Google Scholar searches.

The URL is: https://scholar.google.com.ar/scholar?q=User-level+device+drivers%3A+Achieved+performance&btnG=&hl=es&as_sdt=0%2C5

and I'm trying to save the first result.

Everything goes well except the full text is not saved. I found the following messages in the debug log:

[JavaScript Error: "www.ertos.nicta.com.au:443 uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
"]

there are a lot more, but this seems to be the most relevant.

So, apparently there's a problem with the SSL certificate the site hosting the PDF file is using. Is this a known problem? Does anyone know a workaround?

It's just a problem with that particular site — not a general issue or anything specific to Zotero. There are various problems with their SSL configuration, but in particular it's misconfigured in such a way that only some browsers will allow you to view it.

Anyhow, the PDF you're looking for is here:

    http://ssrg.nicta.com.au/publications/papers/Leslie_CFGGMPSEH_05-tr.pdf
  • Oh, I see. So I just download the PDF separately and attach it to the entry Zotero created, right?
  • Yes. When you're viewing the PDF, you can just drag the icon to the left of the address bar right onto the item in Zotero.
  • OK, cool. Thanks!!
