problems making edits using "edit bibliography"

Hello, I am running Zotero V1.5-sync3.5 on Ubuntu 8.10 and using open office 3.0 with the Zotero openoffice integration 2.0a2 plugin.

I've noticed that when I 'edit bibliography' none of the edits I make in the bibliography edit/preview box get implemented in the bibliography.

Now I am not certain if that is the purpose of edit bibliography and/or the bibliography edit/preview box. So is that the functionality of the edit bibliography? or is edit bibliography only to add/remove full citations from your bibliography.
