Why no tabs in the right panel?

All the screenshots and all the documentation shows tabs in the right panel. However, they don't appear for me in Firefox 3.0.4, neither on the Mac nor on FreeBSD. I even tried creating a new empty profile on the freebsd side and installed zotero there, with the same result.

Because of this, I have only one note per item. Worse, on the Mac I cannot add tags or related, since clicking on “Related: [click here]” or “Tags: [click here]” produces no reaction at all.

Without these features, zotero loses 90% of its utility for me. What am I missing?

PS. Is there a way to alter the title of an item? Not all web pages come with well thought out titles, and not being able to edit the title is a big hindrance.
  • Click on the title will change the title into an input field, where you can make changes. Clicking outside of the input field will save the changes.
  • All the screenshots and all the documentation shows tabs in the right panel.
You're creating attachments (i.e., links or snapshots) rather than regular items.

  • Dan, thanks for the pointer. That was illuminating. If the documentation explains that, it is well hidden. (This only shows how difficult it is to document software, I guess, or maybe it only shows my blindness.)

And to Mark: I was just going to tell you it doesn't work, but then I tried clicking on the title in the right panel. I had tried doing it in the list in the middle panel, and that doesn't work.
