how to merge duplicates that aren't recognized as duplicates

hello all!

i have duplicates in my library that i'd like to merge but they are not recognized as duplicates by Zotero (probably because the citations come from different databases).

is it possible to manually merge library citations?
  • Sure. Select them in the center pane with Ctrl-click, then right-click and select "Merge items" from the context menu. (Zotero will complain if the items are not of the same type, so you may need to adjust that on one of them.)
  • Many thanks for the instructions.

I used the Ctrl-click (holding down Ctrl and left clicking each item), then right-clicked to select "Merge items" from the popup. In the right pane I selected the different items to inspect the data associated with each, and chose the one I wanted to use as the master item for the merge.

    Works perfectly!
