Error with Zotero opening (versions/updating)—pleas help!

When I go to open Zotero I receive an error message saying:

"This version of Zotero is older than the version last used with your database. Please upgrade...." etc etc.

But my Zotero stand alone (Mac) and Zotero firefox are all up to date and when I click the "Check for uodate" box it says there is no need to update!

Pleas help

    One quick question: did you install MLZ at any point?

    Yes, I installed it pretty much straight after installing Zotero... is this an issue?

    Yes, that's why you are getting that error message. The quick short-term fix is to shut down Standalone, and reinstall MLZ.

    If you want to move your database to mainstream Zotero, post back and I can provide some instructions - there are some steps involved, but it's not hard to do.

    I plan to make some changes to MLZ at some point in the future, so that installing it does not affect an existing Zotero database - but for existing installations, installing MLZ does block Zotero.
