Will Zotero upload my files?

A general question, I'm about to install Zotero, but would like to know whether it's easy to set up Zotero so that non of my files or the library (or whatever it is called) are uploaded anywhere.

I want my files and information to stay on my computer only, for the moment. Is that the default option, and if not, how do I change it?

That is the default option. See https://www.zotero.org/support/sync if you want to upload
