Downloading pdfs from internet

Hello!
I tried perusing the forums to find my question but I cannot. Perhaps you can lead me to the correct forum or help me here.

zotero has been functioning very well for me until about a month ago I am having issues with the saving pdfs online. when I click save (on Chrome and on Safari) it saves the citation, doi, snapshot but it does not save the actual pdf, anymore.

(To help with this I have been downloading the pdf and then (a) linking the pdf file location to the zotero citation or (b) uploading that pdf directly to zotero).

Can you help me figure out how to get zotero to pick up the file and download it directly into the snapshot/citation when I request it?

I hope I explained my problem articulately.
  • We'd need URLs where you're not getting PDFs attached, exactly as you see them.
  • Thank you.

    Here is a url.

It seems to be whenever the pdf is through "EBSCO." I have no problem on other sites.

    http://eds.a.ebscohost.com.ezp.lndlibrary.org/ehost/resultsadvanced?sid=77ad6a9f-8d17-4eea-87bc-2e10b00e6940%40sessionmgr4005&vid=2&hid=4113&bquery=emerging&bdata=JmRiPXBkaCZ0eXBlPTEmc2l0ZT1laG9zdC1saXZlJnNjb3BlPXNpdGU%3d
  • unfortunately, on a couple of sites -- most notably EBSCO, Proquest, and Sciencedirect -- automatically attaching PDFs from the Chrome and Safari connector won't work when you're accessing the site through a proxy (the .ezp.lndlibrar.org part of the URL).

Your options are to keep attaching them manually, use Zotero for Firefox, or see if your university allows connecting via VPN.
