How do I install Zotfile?

I am at http://zotfile.com/

I select download and go to to this page

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/zotfile/

Click download and nothing happens, what am I doing wrong?

    are you using Zotero for Firefox or Standalone?
    Also, on that page, there is no "Download" button. There is a "Continue to download" button, which takes you one page further, where you then get a "Add to Firefox" button.

    Sorry, I got as far as downloading a xpi file

    great. You can install the .xpi file from tools-->add-ons in Zotero by clicking on the little tool icon at the top right (looks slightly different on each operating system).

    From zotfile.com under "installing Zotfile"
    Now start Zotero Standalone, and go to ‘Tools->Add-ons->Tools for all Add-ons (the small,drop-down wheel in the top right corner)->Install Add-on From File’ and pick the downloaded .xpi file.

    I get an error, source folder not valid

    I have changed this to my default MAC download folder

    Hi
    I managed to get it working on my iMac but I can't get it to work on my macbook

    If I change the default directory to my download directory all of my saved items in Zotero dissapear

    You'd have to say more specifically what you're doing -- there are various folder settings in ZotFile, none of them refer to a default directory, so I can't say what's going on.

    It says the source folder is not valid, pops up in a box

    Oh, OK, so what do you have at the top of the ZotFile preferences in the general tab? (and why do you want to use the source folder at all? Asking because most people seem to misunderstand what it does).

    In files and folders they are both set to whatever the default is

    Confused: In the General Settings tab of the ZotFile preferences (not the Zotero preferences!), at the top, there is an option: "Source folder for Attaching New Files".
    Surely you don't have the worldcat gateway there? What do you have there?
