APS translator issues

When trying to download journal info from APS (journals.aps.org) I get an error:
"Could Not Save Item
An error occurred while saving this item Check Troubleshooting Translator Issues for more information."

I checked my Zotero standalone was up to date (4.0.26.1) and I updated translators and styles. This is using Firefox 36.0.1

I can get data from other sites, e.g. AIP journals (scitation.aip.org).

Did something change? Is anyone else having this trouble?

Thanks
  • could you post the (or at least one) specific URL as you see it? (even if it affects everything on that site).
  • Sure.

One from PRX and one from PRB:

    http://journals.aps.org/prx/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevX.5.011029
    http://journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevB.91.125119

I fixed this a couple of days ago, so this should work (and does for me). Does it work with Standalone closed?
  • Closed zotero standalone and firefox. Waited a few minutes.
Started Firefox, opened Zotero within Firefox.
Went to PRX. Still cannot save to Zotero.
  • OK, how about when you try to update translators via "Update Translators" from the general tab of the Zotero preferences (stay in Zotero for Firefox to be sure).

If that doesn't work, could you provide an error report ID right after the failed attempt:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems#provide_a_report_id
  • Updated translators. Nothing. Even rebooted computer. Still nothing

    Sent error report. Thanks
  • we need the error report ID here.
  • Tried this on another machine running Zotero (within Firefox).
Here is the Report ID: 81194796
  • That's an outdated version of Zotero. Upgrade to the latest version.
  • But I can also reproduce this issue. I think you had supplemental attachment scraping enabled (via extensions.zotero.translators.attachSupplementary), which was broken. This should be fixed now. Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now and try again.
  • Works for me now. Thanks.
  • Just in case you didn't, you should still update your version of Zotero. 4.0.26.1 is the current version
  • The original post was on a machine where Zotero was up-to-date.

The older Zotero version was on a second computer I used, and the weird thing on that computer is that the stand-alone version is current, but the Firefox plug in is not. I have tried to use Firefox's manager and Zotero's plugin to update with no success. Any suggestions?
  • BitDefender SSL busybody was the issue. Thanks for the help!
