Tring to work out how this all works.
So, I have Zotero (Standalone) running on my Mac (and Zotero for Firefox) installed as well.
I have about 4500 papers and documents (which I am slowly working through annotating, tagging.) This means that a "local file store" is more appropriate than storing on zotero.org.
I think I had zotfile installed - I went through the motions, but it's not showing up in any menus. And I have put zotpad on my ipad. , and set it up with my zotero credentials. It can see the list of files, but attempts to open them say"download failed" - which to me sounds like they are trying to download them from zotero.org - am I doing this incorrectly? OR do I have incorrect expectations..

ZotFile is primarily useful (in terms of tablet sync) if you want to use a non-WebDAV sync provider. But either way, you have to put your pdfs somewhere online.
