Can't download PDFs from APS (Physical Review)

Recently I have been having issues downloading articles from the APS journals. The zotero icon appears, and when I click it, all of the metadata is downloaded to zotero, but an 'x' appears next to "full Text PDF" and no PDF is downloaded.

If I wait a day or so, I can download one or two PDFs from the APS, and then it reverts to this behavior. Have they added some stringent rate limiting?

I am using Chrome + Zotero Standalone, but I have checked that I have the same issue in Firefox.

    I believe that journal requires entering a captcha to download pdfs. Not much we can do about that. When you start encountering problems with pdf downloads, try downloading the pdf manually. If you need to enter a captcha and you do so successfully, subsequent downloads might succeed

    (IIRC, setting an appropriate referrer for the download may help this as well, so there could be something that we can do from Zotero's side of things)
