Search by ISBN adds "new" New Item

When I know the ISBN (e.g. a book in my possession that I want to enter into Zotero) I create a New Item/Book, insert the ISBN then click Locate.

I usually end up at Amazon, and click the book icon in the address bar, and Zotero then proceeds to make a NEW New Item, leaving the one I started with with only the ISBN.

Is that a bug, or am I missing something? I can delete the empty item, but it so unnecessary. Is there a reason that Zotero can't put the data in the item that I already started?

    You're missing something. Clicking the icon in the address book will ALWAYS create a new item. There isn't yet functionality to enrich bibliographic data for a single entity by polling multiple sources (in your case, user-entered & amazon). It is a requested feature, though.

    Ah!! OK, that makes sense.

    I guess I should just enter the ISBN in the Amazon search box (gotta love FireFox, no? ) :)
