Problem with double family names
Hello there,
I am using the Portuguese CSL style, which I've been editing to my convenience, introducing lots of workarounds in order to get proper rendering.
However, I am now debating with an issue I can't figure out:
When you have a double family name where the first has three or less letters, it is automatically assumed as a given name (as many of you might know, Spanish double family names require special treatment since the one that counts is the middle name – the father’s –, therefore it has to be cited before the last).
I get this - VALDIVIESO, María Isabel del VAL
Where I should get - VAL VALDIVIESO, María Isabel del
I’m unable to find any sort of formatting within the names macro that might set this behavior. I have tested APA and Chicago, and it doesn’t happen, so I suppose it is in fact a style issue, not a Zotero hard code thing.
Could someone please help?
Thanks!

"The handling of the non-dropping-particle can be customized with the demote-non-dropping-particle option"
Ok. But where is it?
I really don't think there is an automation here that might work well with all possibilities. If you adjust for a name, you will likely run into trouble later, with another.
I believe it would be a lot better if I could set the style to simply assume as to be cited the names inserted in the 'family name' field - other family names or particles, I put them in the 'given name' field. What I would like is that this would just stay that way.
Meanwhile, I read somewhere that straight double-quote marks ("_") may be used to render the names literally, overriding any dropping-particle behavior settings. This could be an option here, even if temporary.
Thanks a lot.
