Not sure how to get the error, except just opening Zotero Standalone on my Ubuntu 14.04 box

  • what actually happens in Zotero? Do you experience any problems? If so, which?
  • Not noticing any problems...but not sure if I am missing documents or ...?
  • If the error indicates a problem, it appears to be related to full text syncing, so you could test if for some documents if Zotero is able to find words in their full text (you can identify which documents this is about by looking in the folders listed in the error message).
  • Good chance that this is due to either security software (SELinux, AppArmor, or somthing similar) or file permissions.
  • Dan, why would random folders inside my storage folder have altered permissions? That doesn't make sens to me.
  • No one said random. All of the subdirectories could have incorrect permission, or maybe just folders created at a certain time.

But unless you've moved around your data directory or similar, security software is more likely (though that's more common when Firefox is involved).
  • If you provide a Debug ID for about a minute of inactivity (which is when this is likely happening, due to background full-text indexing), that might give us more details to go on.
