Upgrade StorageOrdering by author and then by title
I would like to order my book list in Zotero alphabetically by the author's name and then by the title of the book. Currently, whenever I order the list by the author's last name, Zotero lists all books by the same author in order of the publication date of the book. I would like this second-level ordering to be done alphabetically according to the title of the book. Is there a way to control this second-level alphabetical ordering?
You can click on the little table icon at the top right of the middle panel and select a secondary sort variable (title, in your case).
That's not possible on the webpage.
If you're referring to a bibliography, that'd be specific for each citation style.
Selecting multiple variables from the table icon simply adds the information to the display in the middle panel. It does not affect secondary ordering. I tried displaying only "Title" and "Creator" (author) and then ordered the list by "Creator," but Zotero's second-level ordering again defaulted to "Date," even though that variable is not even on display.
The option says explicitly "Secondary Sort" and is between "More Columns" and "Restore Column Order." If it's not there, you're either not using an up-to-date Zotero version or something (likely an add-on) is preventing it from showing.
