USGS report ISSN
A USGS report usually has an ISSN number. I don't know how to categorize it to fully record its USGS report number and ISSN number. In Zotero, if I specify it as a report or a book, there is no ISSN.

adamsmithyou can't -- I'm not sure if we'll add ISSNs for reports in the future. I know they exist, but they're pretty rare and pretty much never cited, so the usefulness is questionable. Probably depends on the details of how various identifiers are implemented, but even if it does happen it's not going to happen very soon.

DWL-SDCABe aware that the USGS, the US DHHS, the Department of Justice, the Department of Transportation, and other US federal agencies have report series publications that from the agencies' point of view are treated as serials -- thus, the ISSN. If need be, I can dig up examples of citations to these as issues of a periodical (not as reports).
