Style Request: the Harvard Cite Them Right (9th ed) for Liverpool University

Hi,

Would it be possible to add the University of Liverpool version of the Harvard Cite Them Right (9th ed) referencing system? The varieties I have noticed are mainly related to citing online journals, with regards to using the DOI reference, citing the database source and/or URL.

Full guidelines (which are an addition to Harvard Cite Them Right 9th edition) is available here: http://lgdata.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/docs/1531/345457/Guide_to_Referencing_and_developing_a_Bibliography.pdf

Would be highly appreciated!

  • sorry, I don't think anyone does university specific styles (that's mainly due to time constraints, but also because UK schools just need to stop with that insanity). All the existing ones have either been submitted by people at said university or paid for.

You can try http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step if the changes are small this may not be so hard.
  • Thanks for getting back to me so soon.

I agree that it shouldn't be necessary to have all these different versions of what is really all the same in terms of referencing value.

I did however hope you had the chance of helping me out; looking at the list of various other Harvard based styles with uni references (https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=Harvard); but then again I didn't know they were paid for privately. Unfortunately, my student loans won't allow for that sort of spending..

Will have a look at making some adjustments based on the link you sent.

    Thanks!
  • yip it is a royal pain, out of the arm length list there is no University of Liverpool. Darn it did you have any luck in tracking a Liverpool styles file?
