Zotero as group paper repository?

Is there a way to use zotero so that all of the files and attachments stay on your webdav file server and you retrieve each paper as needed? Also is there a way to use multiple accounts at the same time? This would be great so that our lab could use zotero collectively without downloading the whole library onto each person's computer.

A "lab mode" that offers a login screen and on-demand downloading of attachments is planned, though we don't currently have an ETA for that feature.
