EzPDF not working nicely with zotero anymore :(

A few weeks ago, I could open my zotero account that has zotfile, click send to tablet, open the file in ezpdf reader on my samsung galaxy note 10.1, annotate it and it would auto save to the same file. Then, back in zotero on my laptop, I could click on the file> get from tablet and it'd bring the article back and automatically extract the annotations all in one easy step.

but now....

when I try to close the pdf on ezpdf reader, it tells me the file has been modified and I have to save it as something separate and manually copy it back onto my laptop and reattach in zotero.

why did the easy functionality change?! Is there a way to get it back? Is there a setting that somehow got switched that I need to switch back-- how?
  • that really sounds like a question for EzPDF -- the part that you're describing as having changed has nothing to do with Zotero.

I know that it's an EzPDF-based problem. But I was hoping that someone on this forum might also use both programs, might also have encountered the same problem, and have an idea of how to fix it (perhaps even a workaround that would come from the zotero side even if zotero isn't to blame).
  • I never managed to make ezPDF work with Zotfile, as I think it was supposed to work.
I didn't discovered Zotfile until recently, but my workaround is:

I have the third party app called Dropsync to sync automatically in two ways a folder A (the same on Zotfile) on my Dropbox and a folder B on my phone.
On Zotero, I click send to tablet.
On my phone/tablet I open ezpdf and on the All pdf tab I choose open from folder B. Annotate the pdf, close it.
I go to Zotero and click Get from tablet and it extracts annotations.

I think that if you open the pdf files directly from Dropbox, using ezPDF, and annotate them, on closing ezpdf will not ask for renaming, but this will imply being online, and sometimes I need to make annotations offline.
