BibTeX file URLs - Drag & Drop

Many academic websites are helpful enough to provide links to .bib files with their BibTeX citations. I frequently want to import these files into Zotero, but this involves several steps (saving the file, choosing Import, locating the file on my hard drive, deleting the file). Dragging and dropping the file's URL into Zotero currently creates a snapshot; instead, I think it should automatically recognize the file format as something that can be imported as citations, and perform the import immediately. Alternatively, if a Firefox content handler can be created so that clicking on a .bib file opens it with Zotero, that would be great as well (if this is possible already, I cannot figure out how to do it).
