Neooffice to Libreoffice migration failure

Hello,

I have a complex document (350 pages, tables, figures, cross-references, hundreds of bibliographical references) that I wrote with Neooffice on my Mac (10.9.4). I switched to Libreoffice (latest version, with the latest version of the Zotero plugin for Firefox), and I can't insert my bibliography. I get the following lovely error message:

"Zotero Integration Error

Zotero experienced an error updating your document.

Database permanetly closed; not re-opening."

Any idea how to debug this?

Thank you,
Clement.
P.S.: I can share my ODT file if this can be of any help.
  • It's very hard to say, but I'd start by running through these.

There are, from the Zotero side, no real differences in LibreOffice and NeoOffice, but with that much complexity, I assume a small difference in how a reference or cross-reference is handled by LibreOffice could throw Zotero.
  • Hi Adam,

Many thanks, it worked by first inserting a citation, and then the bibliography. It's extremely slow however, I'm posting a new topic about this new issue.

    Clement.
  • Huge documents would always have been slow, though. A full-lenght manuscript with hundreds of citations will just be laggy. There are a number of threads on that already.
  • So, what's the solution? Patience?... or is there a list of tricks to speed up Zotero?

If this slowness is a known problem, could the developer team work to make Zotero much faster? My document is typical of a book-length or PhD-length document. It would be a shame that Zotero would be usable only with paper-length documents (as it seems the case now).

    Thanks.
    Clement.
