self-made endnote styles import error

Wow, the new sync preview is really cool. Endnote style import is fantastic, but strangely, I can import the styles produced by endnote, but not those that I created myself. When I try to import I get an error message saying that the file "does not appeat o be a valid CSL style file". I would prefer if this would happen with the endnote style files rather than those I created. It happens not with just one, but with all the style files I created. With endnote the files work fine (endnote 9, max OS X 10.5).

Could you give some more details? Are the styles you created yourself CSL styles? If they are CSL styles, did you make them with a text-editor or via a CSL generator (e.g. http://www.somwhere.org/csl/)? Also, did you make sure that they validate against the CSL schema?

  • No, these are not CSL styles. These are endnote .ens styles. But I assume that they are no different from other endnote .ens styles. All this with the latest version of sync 3.1.
  • The text of the error was incorrect—I've fixed that on the trunk.

migugg, is there anything in Report Errors after you get the error? If so, send in an error report and post the Report ID here.
