Slow loading of Mozilla

Mozilla 3.0.3 - there were reports of slow loading. The slow load problem also appeared on both my laptop and desktop. XP Pro. With some trial and error I have found that if my WD 500gb USB drive and WAMP 2.0c are both running on the machine then Mozilla loads slow. If those items are not present and running then Mozilla pops open very nicely.
