Field under the "Indexed: " word on a snapshot and Save link to current page

What is the purpose for the field directly under the "Indexed:" word? I see this on the snapshot and save link to current page. It is set up to type in it but I don't think that information ever displays on any generated reports? I don't think one can search the field? So, what is it for?

    It's the embedded note field that all attachments have. The quicksearch does indeed search it, and it also shows up in generated reports.

    Yes, I missed that one. It is searchable. However, the only way I get the embedded note to show up when generating a "report from the selected items" is if the object with the embedded note is a top level object (not under a bibliography object). Yep, I have them all 'selected' too.
