Zotero crashes - Yosemite

The Zotero application on my Yosemite OS mid-2010 MacBook crashes within seconds every time I open it. I have deleted and re-downloaded the application multiple times, however, the application continues to crash. Are there any solutions? Thank you.

Please give more details about "crashes". Do you mean that Yosemite actually crashes with error messages and a required restart? I'm guessing that you are using Zotero standalone. Could it be that he program is simply taking a _really_ long time to open? Look at the troubleshooting pages in the documentation. Pay particular attention to the section on reporting problems. You have not yet provided sufficient details for the experts to be of much help.

Zotero standalone crashes when I attempt to open it -- I see my library for a few moments, my cursor indicates it is loading, and then the application crashes and I receive an error message. I have looked at the troubleshooting pages and have not been able to find similar issues. The following is part of the error message I receive -- hopefully this will help to understand what happens. Try restarting your computer. Try re-installing Zotero Standalone from zotero.org (your data remains untouched, but you should still make backups). Try using Zotero in Firefox (sharing the same data directory when it asks on first run).

My standalone still crashes when I open it. This has been a problem since I updated my operating system to Yosemite. I have restarted my computer and deleted then redownloaded the standalone about a dozen times. I will try to just use Firefox. Thank you!
