Report Id 1226865679 - Error when adding a link to a pdf file

Hi there,

Since a week, I cannot add any new pdf to my library (Zotero stand alone with word plugin, no firefox plugin).
What I do: New item -> Link to File -> add the pdf.
Then, I get metadata from it to update the biblio information.
I have always done it this way, no problem until 1 week ago. Now, when I try to do it, the linking to the file fails and I receive the message "An error has occurred. Please restart Zotero".

I don't see any reason for to fail since I don't think I made any change recently.

Any hints is welcomed !!

    By the way, any other way of adding a link to a pdf to an entry results in the same error! :(

    You probably have an invalid linked attachment base directory specified in the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences. Fix the directory and this will work again. (This was also fixed in 4.0.24, but that's not available yet for Standalone.)

    Well, I changed the directory from a Dropbox to a Switch file (dropbox-like for Swiss labs) and it works again! Must have been an error in the path, though I don't see any reasons for it to have appeared in the first place.
