Index Medicus Style in zotero?

Hi
I have a question about the Index Medicus style. The journal where I am going to publish my paper wants to have the "Medicus Style":

"References should be listed and journal titles abbreviated according to the style used by Index Medicus; examples are given below."
Examples of journal references:
Castonguay TW, Dallman MF, Stern JS. Some metabolic and behavioural effects of adrenalectomy in obese Zucker rats. Am J Physiol 1986; 251: R923-R933.

Zotero has no medikus style. How can I get the style or is there a similar style in zotero?

Thanks!!
  • Which journal? The style looks like standard Vancouver, so you can try that.
  • Obesity Society’s!

    - "Am J Physiol" must be presented in italics
    - "251:" must be printed in bold type

Castonguay TW, Dallman MF, Stern JS. Some metabolic and behavioural effects of adrenalectomy in obese Zucker rats. Am J Physiol 1986; 251: R923-R933.
  • So for the "Obesity" journal? We have that: https://zotero.org/styles?q=obesity

Note that volume numbers aren't in bold in the journal: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/oby.20821/pdf
  • Vancouver don´t present the
    - journal in italics and
    - the number in bold type...

Do there exist 2 different Vancouver Styles?
  • Thanks for your answer!

But it is not the journal "Obesity", it is this journal:

    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/%28ISSN%291930-739X/homepage/ForAuthors.html
  • could it be the style: "International Journal of Obesity"?
  • That link links to the "Obesity" journal.
  • edited December 12, 2014
Yes, it belongs to "Obesity". (...The Obesity Society’s official journal, Obesity, a research journal, aims to publish leading...).

But they want the journal references in another style:

!Please give the names of all authors, unless there are more than 6 authors, in which case, please list only the first 6 authors, followed by et al. References should be listed and journal titles abbreviated according to the style used by Index Medicus; examples are given below.
    Examples of journal references:
Castonguay TW, Dallman MF, Stern JS. Some metabolic and behavioural effects of adrenalectomy in obese Zucker rats. Am J Physiol (in italics) 1986; 251(in bold type): R923-R933."

The zotero style "obesity" is a little bit different...
  • Note that "Index Medicus" is not a citation style. It's the old name of PubMed and refers only to a list of abbreviations.

As Rintze says above, the instructions for authors for "Obesity" are not actually what they publish/require.
The style we have for "Obesity" is correct and follows their actual practice in published articles such as
    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/oby.20821/pdf
i.e. we do italicize journal abbreviations, but only use three authors before et al. and don't print journal titles in bold.
  • Ok, thank you both for your help!
