Change citation language of existing document

Hi,

I use zotero standalone with the firefox plugin and libreoffice plugin.
I have >200 citations in my file and need to change the citation language to german, currently english, mainly for month names.
How do I do that?
I tried setting the locale in firefox about:config and then reloaded the citations in my file. But that didn't work.

If you mean https://www.zotero.org/support/supported_languages#citations_and_bibliographies then try changing your citation style to something else and then back.

also, this will only work for some citation styles. Which are you using?

I'm using Chicago 16th (full note). What aurimas proposed didn't work.

Are you using Zotero Standalone or Zotero for Firefox or both?

(Chicago should definitely work, though, so that's not the problem)

I'm using zotero 4.0.23 for Mac (standalone I suppose) and the firefox plugin 4.0.24.1

Make sure you're changing the locale in Zotero Standalone via Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Open about:config.

have you changed the language settings in both? Just Standalone should be enough, but better to be sure.

I changed the locale in Zotero too and also the setting "matchOS" to false as proposed in the documentation.
