Firefox loads pages forever - disable Zotero helps.

Hello,
I'm new to Zotero and have just been trying it (1.5 sync 2.2) for a few weeks.
A few days ago my Firefox (3.0.3) suddenly wouldn't load any web pages, and i repeatedly got a 403 error from google. It looks like pages are just loading forever, without any content showing up.
I have tried disabling all Firefox extensions one by one, and disaling Zotero makes FF behave normally.

thankful for all response
  • 1) Can you reproduce the slowdown just by re-enabling Zotero?

    2) If so, run Zotero with debug output enabled, and enable extensions.zotero.debug.time as well. Load some web pages, and then e-mail the debug output to support@zot....org.
  • Yes, the hang/slowdown i perfectly reproducible as i enable/disable Zotero.

    I'll try the debug part.
  • Now I finally got to try the debug output. The output is in your support inbox.
  • As discussed via e-mail, the problem was an entry in the Proxies pane of the Zotero prefs that was causing Zotero to attempt to use every site as a proxy for itself.

We're looking into what response from the original proxy caused this problem, but in the meantime removing the Proxies entry fixed the problem.
