Color-highlighting pertinent elements in document info tab
Hi all,
Quick suggestion.
I think it could be interesting as a feature in Zotero (the .csl might have to code for this as well) to have the option to highlight info elements (author, title, url, etc.) in a certain color, to show the user that the concerned info element is considered in the reference, for the specific document item type.
For instance, X.csl only considers, for document item type Journal Article, Artist Name and Title fields, so these two fields would be highlighted in light red in the info tab on the right-side of the Zotero window.
The user would select which style he'd like the highlightings to be associated to.
I could make a quick draw-up of what I mean, if I didn't explain it well enough.
Thoughts? Thanks for taking the time to read this, and sorry if this isn't the first time the idea was suggested.

In fact, CSL styles are often written specifically to take advantage of the presence/absence of certain fields. So any color highlighting to suggest that you should fill out fields would have a good chance of confusing users more than it would do good.
I do think some more guidance for data entry would be good, but given what I know about bibliographic data and CSL, I'm skeptical about how much automated guidance has to contribute.
