I cant insert zotero in Firfox version 33.1.1

Hey,

i brought a new laptop, installed the newest version of firefox and later on tried to install and insert zotero in firefox. It says that the add-ons cant be installed because of an connection failure from zotero.org. In the older version on my older computer it just worked fine, my whole library is in zotero on the older computer and i need it to copy it but cant get zotero into firefox. i already installed older versions of firefox and deactivated add blocks but it still doesnt work.

any ideas?

it is avast!Web/Mail Shield,

there is no “GeoTrust Inc.” or “RapidSSL”.

it is issued to zotero and issued by avast certificate until nex year...
so whats to do, should i deinstall avast and than try again with the new firfox

Thank you. i tried that, didnt work, so i deleaded avast and firefox an than reinstalled firefox and did two restarts:

I now have the “GeoTrust Inc.” and “RapidSSL” certificate and it also says that it is a save website, but still it blocks zotero download.

any other ideas?

you're saying that you're on https://www.zotero.org/download/ and if you click on the padlock it says "Verified by GeoTrust Inc." and you still get the same error on install? What does it say exactly?

i got it!
i installed the older version of firefox and it acceptet zotero, works as usual! thank you so much, i can go on writing, which is not fun but more fun than this stuff!

well, but that's not really a permanent solution -- you'll want to be able to update Firefox/Zotero, otherwise it'll stop working again eventually.

i hope that it will work. should i try an update of firefox? or what do you recommend me to do? try something else?

you should definitely update firefox, yes. Good chance it'll just work, but you should keep an eye out for Zotero updates. If you can't download Zotero, it won't update, either. There'll be an update out this Sunday night, so I'd see if that installs or not.
