DOI from mEDRA (and OJS articles)

Hello,
I am the managing editor of a scholarly journal published with Open Journal Systems (OJS) software.

This journal is registering DOI with mEDRA (DOI registration agency similar to Crossref).

When I try to import articles from my journal to Zotero, Zotero is using the DOI translator, but the import fails, since CrossRef doesn't have these data.

Otherwise, I can not import embedded metadata because Zotero automatically starts the DOI importer.

So, is it possible to prepare an OJS trasnlator (it is a system widely diffused) or is it possible to import DOIs from medra, too?
Here mEDRA's API docs: http://www.medra.org/en/ws.htm
  • Can you give an example doi? And can you try to add the mEDRA doi 10.12851/EESJ201312ART13 , which works for me.
  • It works for me, too.
But if you try to go to
http://aibstudi.aib.it/article/view/10134 and import from Zotero (I am using standalone version + Chrome connector) the importer can not work.

The registered medra DOI is 10.2426/aibstudi-10134
  • Okay, I can add your doi by identifyer but the web translator does not work on your page (firefox with zotero plugin). Let us wait for @aurimasv , he did most of the doi import stuff.
  • Thanks.
I (partially) solved with a COiN plugin, that enables the Zotero COINS translator.

You can try the different behavior at
    http://aibstudi.aib.it/article/view/10134 (coin enabled)
    and
http://ebph.it/article/view/9473 (coin disabled) where mDREA DOI is 10.2427/9473
