Style error [mBio]

I have the lateste vs of Zotero and the mBio style and it seems to me that this style collects the publication name from the field "publication" and not "abreviate pub name" so it can be an issue. I can't find where I can tweak the style.
did post similar tweet under @nemopeeters
  • The style is set to use abbreviations for journals, though not for books where chapters are cited. I assume that's correct. Is that not what you're getting? And that is using Zotero? Are you using the word processor add-on or citing some other way?
  • Yes I used the wd add-on, Zotero (latest update) mBio style (latest update also).

For an article journal there are two fields that mention the journal:
"Publication" and "Journal Abbr." I have examples where, in the bibliography, I find the field "Publication" is used rather than the field "Journal Abbr."

I must be able to tweak this in the dowloaded style, no?, could you tell me where I can modify the style by hand?

    thanks
    Nemo
  • well, the style actually uses American Society for Microbiology, so you could install and modify that

but I checked that style, it definitely uses short forms for journal titles. By default, using the word add-on, Zotero will automatically abbreviate using the content of the publication field and matching it against an abbreviation list and algorithm. You can switch that behavior and use the journal abbr. fiel instead by unchecking the "Automatically abbreviate journal titles" in the document settings in the Word add-on.
