Keeping attached links between items in Zotero and pdfs on my hard drive working on two computers?
Aloha Zotero Community! I have a quick question. I have very large collection of pdfs on my computer, and have these pdfs attached to items in my Zotero library via links. I work from two computers, one at home (my laptop) and one at work (desktop), and I have Zotero on both computers. I have the pdfs on my laptop's hard drive, that's where I attached the pdfs (via links) to their Zotero Library items in the first place, therefore accessing the pdfs through Zotero is no problem when I'm on my laptop. What I would like to do is to be able to have access to those pdfs, via the links I have attached to my Zotero Library items, while I'm working with my Zotero system on my desktop computer at work.
From what I understand the easiest solution to this problem would be to attach pdf files to the items in my library (in stead of links) and then sync everything via the "Zotero File Storage" option. Unfortunately, at the moment, I can't justify the monthly fees that would be required to hold all my pdfs, and it would be huge pain to go through and attach the actual pdfs to each item.
In stead of going the "Zotero File Storage" route, could I just copy and paste my pdf library from my laptop to some specified location on my desktop and then some how tell the Zotero Library on my desktop it can look for the linked pdfs in that spot on it's hard drive??? Thus, allowing me to access my pdfs via Zotero on my desktop, without creating any problems with the Zotero systems on each of my computers (like errors and corrupt files). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I run both the Firefox and standalone versions of Zotero on each computer - I'm not sure if that's relevant background information for answering this question but I though I would put it out there.
Thanks in advance for any help getting this sorted out!

I'm sure you can figure out how to sync the PDFs between your two computers. As for making the links actually work, see "Relative Linked Attachment Filepaths" here: http://zoteromusings.wordpress.com/2013/04/11/whats-new-in-zotero-4-0-part-2/
