The Ideal Folder System for Zotero

What is the ideal folder structure for Zotero? Is there an ideal? Or is it simply dependent upon the nature of the user's activity and research? Can there be a or several pre-provided library designs that enable the new user to quickly begin adapting a pre-formed library for their own ends?

With these questions in mind, I have designed an outline of a library folder system that would make room for EVERYTHING an individual possesses digitally. I have transferred my whole desktop into Zotero and I operate files and programs out of Zotero, barring a few system files like backups and the like.

I am with the group Civic Scenarios, Ottawa, and a rough version of what I call a "Program-Regulated Library" can be found at:

The idea is that the professional, no matter what field, no matter what business or occupation, is at root an individual, self-employer, who needs the complete wealth of their whole digital library with them, to best allow for the intercession of ideas between projects and activities. Their library must have a definitive place for personal files and professional files, sources and subjects, data, knowledge, and applications.

At Civic Scenarios we have developed a business model to go along with the library system we are pioneering. It is called "Management Map".

    It can be found at:
