suffix working with word processor plug in

I searched the forums but was not able to find what I am looking for.

I am working with the Libreoffice zotero plug in and using author year for my ciations with the CSL style Ecology

When I enter two citations that have the same author and year the citations in my libreoffice document automatically get suffixes.

For example. I start by adding

Doe 1980


Then I add another Doe 1980 and automatically suffixes get added to both of my citations.

Doe 1980a
Doe 1980b


What I am trying to do is to not have the first citation modified and only the second. That is, I would like to automatically get

Doe 1980
Doe 1980b

Is this possible.
