Error on first sync attempt

Just setting up Zotero on a Mac. On first syncing with a library created from another machine into a new, empty zotero library (using preview 2.2), I get the error:

Error: [Exception... "'[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [mozIStorageStatement.execute]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js :: anonymous :: line 123" data: no] [QUERY: INSERT INTO tags (tagID, name, type, dateModified, key) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)] [ERROR: constraint failed]' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "" data: no]
This is quite early on in the sync process, and the library remains empty.
  • Assuming this is reproducible (it should be), open Zotero with debug output enabled, and send the debug output for the entire sync process to support@zot.....org.
  • This also happens using a new FF profile, with nothing done in it other than the zotero installation.
  • Have other people managed to populate zotero on a Mac by syncing with a zotero database originally created on a PC?
  • The OS shouldn't make a difference. I've looked into your issue and found the problem—we should have a fix for you soon.
  • Great, thanks.
  • I'm still getting this with 1.5a1.r3523 and an empty database.
    Jon.
  • Me too, with r3808 on the Mac.
  • OK, the problem should now be fixed server-side. The fix may result in an unreconcilable conflict on the next sync attempt for the people who were affected by this, so you may need to clear one side if that happens to you. But 1) you might not get a conflict and 2) it shouldn't happen again.
  • That's worked a treat for me. Thanks yet again.
