Error 2093469038

I've installed Zotero Standalone in a second computer of mine, and I got the error 2093469038 when synchronizing data in the new computer. Someone can help? Many thanks in advance!
  • Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync attempt that fails?
  • It seems that's D211593246.
  • Error connecting to server. Check your Internet connection.
Is this the message you're seeing?

If so, it's usually due to either third-party security software on your computer or misconfigured proxy server settings. If you're using security software, try temporarily disabling it. Otherwise, make sure your system proxy settings are either correct or fully disabled, and then restart Zotero.

No, of course. This kind of error even I can understand :) I get repeatedly something like:

[JavaScript Error: "bad script XDR magic number"]
[JavaScript Error: "no element found" {file: "https://sync.zotero.org/updated" line: 1151 column: 1584 source: "Prerequisites of home language [extra output removed — D.S.]

    version => 4.0.23, platform => Win32, oscpu => Windows NT 6.1; WOW64, locale => en-US, appName => Zotero, appVersion => 4.0.23, extensions => Zotero LibreOffice Integration (3.5.9.SA.4.0.23, extension), Zotero Word for Windows Integration (3.1.17.SA.4.0.23, extension), Java(TM) Platform SE 8 U25 (11.25.2.18, plugin), Java Deployment Toolkit 8.0.250.18 (11.25.2.18, plugin), Google Update (1.3.25.5, plugin), NVIDIA 3D Vision (7.17.13.697, plugin), NVIDIA 3D VISION (7.17.13.697, plugin)
  • Now I got The Debug ID is D264213687.

I did another test: "The Debug ID is D1868068125."

    Report ID: 292698339

The beginning of the text is (it's too long for submitting it here):

[JavaScript Error: "bad script XDR magic number"]
    [JavaScript Error: "no element found" {file: "https://sync.zotero.org/updated" line: 2 column: 126800 source: "<response version="9" timestamp="1414717006" userID="1937020" defaultLibraryID="1731817" updateKey="3febeaee5ebb2375e51f4245054d9082" earliest="1249075294"><updated><creators><creator key="2KFHFV2B" dateAdded="2014-10-30 19:51:57" dateModified="2014-10-30 19:51:58"> [extra output removed — D.S.]
  • But that's an error report. I'm asking what the actual message is that you're seeing — or the problem you're actually reporting.
  • From your debug output, I see a sync attempt, followed by a delay of 7-10 minutes with no activity, and then a logged error of "Error connecting to server. Check your Internet connection.".

Judging from that, this is most likely due to security software on your system or a proxy server interfering with Zotero.
  • Does it make a difference if you temporarily disable full-text content syncing from the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences?
  • Ok, thanks. I can't imagine what it can be now. That's a new computer staying along with the old one in my office, using both Zotero Standalone and the same local network. I'll try to see...
  • Yes, by disabling full-text content syncing it began to work. It's syncing now: a progress bar appeared at I'm already at 10% (of 1GB/1200 registers)
  • OK, so once the file sync finishes (which could take a few tries if this is an initial sync, but that's nothing to worry about) and subsequent syncs are instantaneous, try reenabling full-text content syncing and see if the problem comes back.
  • For your records, fortunately, everything seems to be solved. I guess there was some kind of problem in the connection from my new computer the sysmanager solved, so I'm not sure how much I owe to or and to the two-step sync. In any case, thanks a million!
