Zotero plug in for Word at Mac

Hi, because there is no plug in for pages I am wondering if I could be using of full Zotero features when I install Word at Mac. In other words, is there a plug in for Word installed at Mac please? If so, could anyone please provide a link/info where I can get it?
  • The Word for Mac plugin is here.

(Possibly the required Firefox versions recited in that page should be updated, since Zotero itself now requires Firefox version 31 or later.)
  • Many thanks guys. A quick question, I have only Safari... I rather do not feel like instal Mozilla, will it still work? I have a plug in for Zotero in my Safari and it works as it should. I am missing only a plug in for word at Mac for a proper creation of references. What do I need Firefox for then?
  • You have then Zotero Standalone and there "Word processor plugins are included with Zotero Standalone, and can be installed from the Zotero preferences."
  • You'll need Zotero Standalone. See https://www.zotero.org/download/ Word processor extension cannot be installed in Safari
  • Yes guys you are right. I have standalone, I already installed a plug in for Safari. Works perfect. Now I think I'll need to install Word on my Mac and then a plug in for Word... I hope it will be fine as Zotero for me is very cool.
  • TomaszSmyk, how have you been able to instal the Word plug on Mac with Safari? I can't do it...and I don't feel like downloading Firefox. Pls advise, dziekuje
  • You need to run Zotero Standalone, which comes with the Word add-on installed. There is no such thing as a Zotero Word plugin for Safari.
  • I have already downloaded the Zotero, how to change it to 'standalone'...?
thanks much I am very confused
  • You should have two things downloaded:
    Zotero Standalone and
    Zotero Extension for Safari
    Both are available from zotero.org/download
If you have both of them, it's possible, especially on non-English systems, that the Word plugin didn't install in the right place, but that'd be a separate issue.
  • I have a problem with downloading the extension for safari, when I press 'install' I receive notification that is not possible...do you have any advice here? Thank you
  • what's the exact message that you're getting? And to be clear-you're clicking on the Safari icon on zotero.org/download , correct?
  • I do click on the indicated one. first is: an error occurred. Then, when I try again I have: Safari can't open file Zotero Connector safariextz because the file has moved since you downloaded it.
One More problem I have is, that I don't have any Zotero in my Word programme.
    Thank you

@kasiazinha: 1) Can you download and open any other file in Safari?, 2) Did you install the Word plugin from the zotero standalone version?
  • Hi kasiazinha, I see that it seems to be more complicated than it should be. I did not have any problems with anything (safari extension as well as word plug in) In my threads up, there are clear indications of what should be downloaded.
  • Hey, I have a similar problem.
I installed Zotero standalone some months ago and I was using it with my open office- there were no problems. Now I got Microsoft Word 2011 and want to use Zotero with it, but there is no icon. Do I have to update Zotero, or how can I use it with word on my mac?

    Thank you for answering
    Julie
  • Install Word integration via Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors
  • Okay, I did as you wrote. But where is the Icon in Word now? I still can't find it.
