Continuous sync error

Error ID 923046353 (uploaded)

I've been showing an error icon besides the sync spinner for a week. It looks like I'm not alone. Still, what do I need to do.

I turned on debugging and here is the Debug ID D971590438.

Let me know how I can help provide info on my system or what I'm doing. JT

    [JavaScript Error: "S3 returned 0 (0_8CKJ8QE5) -- retrying upload" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/storage/zfs.js" line: 485}]

So you're using DNS Advantage, which is a DNS service that serves you fake results when it can't resolve an address in order to show you ads. Here it is causing Zotero to send your Zotero files to their servers, which Firefox's SSL protections dutifully prevents. You should stop using that and switch to either your ISP's DNS or an open DNS service that doesn't lie to you.

As for why it would be falling back to its search server in the first place, I don't know, but I'd guess that it's a conflict with one of your other Firefox extensions. After stopping using DNS Advantage, if you're still having trouble, I would start by trying with your other Firefox extensions disabled, starting with the ones listed here. If that doesn't help, it could be due to security software interfering.
  • That fixed it - I had an extension on Firefox that I know was causing the change to the DNS. Removed it and restarted my machine and suddenly I have a blue bar uploading files and no error message. Case closed! Thanks Dan!
