Style Error: [Parasites and Vectors]

My formatted references came out with all the text in bold.

The proper format is listed at http://www.parasitesandvectors.com/authors/instructions/research#formatting-title

Only the title of the journal article and the issue number should be in bold.

this is all about italics--because that's always where this happens--but applies to your case as well.
  • Good to know about that. I tried putting in a dummy first reference without any italics and it still gave me the whole reference section in bold! Any other suggestions on how I might fix it?
  • Well, obviously italics don't matter in your case--it's the bold that's the problem, so you want a dummy reference with no or minimal bold font.
  • I put in a short tite (the bold part)- it didn't seem to matter.
  • Start by testing this in an otherwise empty document with just one reference (and a short title). Does that look right?

If so, try deleting and re-inserting your bibliography with the short-titled first reference.
  • Ah! It works when I put in a 3 letter title! (the bold part) Now my problem is how to get the numbering of the references to work out when I have a dummy reference in the front.
  • there's a workaround for numbered styles on the KB page I link to. It's not elegant, but it's workable.
  • What a pain that is!

    Thanks for your help!
