Square-brackets for uncertain dates

Hello,

I use the "tapuscrit EHESS" style.

I wish I could put into square brackets dates of publication which are not certain (it is a common problem when newspaper articles compiled by libraries - with dates added by hand - are used)

In my Zotero library, if I add square brackets into the date field, the brackets don't appear in footnotes...

Can I fix it ?

Thanks a lot for your help (and sorry for my poor english)
  • (Feel free to post in French--most of us here read functional French, even though we'll mostly reply in English).

Unfortunately, you can't preserve square brackets around dates. The only thing that _will_ still around are underscores (_1995_) so you could try using those.

We'll eventually get a better date field that will allow us to automate that in the style. Won't be super soon, unfortunately.
  • Thank you very much for your answer.
An other solution may consist in adding the date (between square brackets) in the publication field, after the title. But the problem is that the date appears in italic.

So I think I will use the underscores, it appears to be the most convenient.
    Thanks a lot !!
