Translator not recognizing HTML entity special characters

When trying to save the article at http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2566617 to my library, I notice the title includes entities like "&Ldquo;" "&Rdquo;" and "&Rsquo;" instead of quotation marks and an apostrophe, respectively.

This appears to be a bug and I would propose having translators recognize when HTML entities are present and convert them appropriately, as Firefox does when displaying the title.
  • it is a bug, but not a Zotero bug: the problem are the html entities that are in ACM's bibtex export:
    http://dl.acm.org/exportformats.cfm?id=2566617&parent_id=2648782&expformat=bibtex
where they most definitely don't belong (and they aren't displayed correctly by Firefox, either, as you can see).
There's a history of that but I thought it got sorted out on the ACM side a while ago and maybe crept back in. @aurimas -- do you remember what's up with this?
  • I don't recall this issue. Emailed ACM about this. Let's give it a couple days before we fix it on our end.
  • It's been a few months and the bug is still there - I'm just posting to refresh this thread!
  • Should be fixed now (commit). Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now, restart browser, and try again.
  • Great, thanks!
