OpenURL/COinS and automatic PDF download

Hi,

I run websites with publications lists and followed these instructions to add some information so that Zotero can import the references:

http://ocoins.info/cobg.html

This works well, except I can't figure out how to get Zotero to also download PDFs associated with publications.

Is there a way? Thanks!

In case you haven't seen this page https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/exposing_metadata

The only way to make Zotero download PDFs is either to use the Embedded Metadata option (i.e. <meta> tags and citation_pdf_url), but that only works for individual item pages, not lists, or write a dedicated translator. I'm pretty sure other options (unAPI) won't work. COinS certainly does not have a way to specify PDFs.

UnAPI would work for any formats that have translators that download PDFs (our site uses MODS XML for this).

do you have a link to that? I was wondering about unAPI and file attachments recently, would like to see that in a working example.

thanks, that's great. For future reference, if you add the attribute
access="raw object"
to location/url in MODS, Zotero will attach the item linked to.
