Can I specify the arrangement of the attached files myself?

In Zotero, the attached files are stored in /zotero/storage/. They are put into folders named like "NEU29KE98DS4" respectively. This is really inconvenient to me.

Can I set the arrangement of the PDFs on my wish? Such as, storing them into different folders named by "year", or by "author" and so on.

I once successfully changed the style of citation key in the exported bibtex files by adjusting the java codes in zotero/translator folder. Can I achieve changing the arrangement of the PDFs by similarly adjusting the java codes somewhere?

Thank you very much!

By the way, I know the Add-on called "zotfile" that can solve my problem, but the settings are too many and sometimes it comes up with some new problems.

Moreover, zotfile seems to use "link" to do the arrangement, I think this may be unstable. So I really want to know whether there is a method that can solve my problem without the help of zotfile.

    Thanks so much.

no you cannot. But Zotfile really is rather straightforward to set up, very reliable, and since Zotero now has relative links, there should be little concern about stability of links both across machines and over time.
